Hello all,

I'm a graphic designer who spends nearly all day, every day in the Adobe Creative Suite. Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, InDesign, Premier, etc... I'm currently on a 2016 15 inch MBP and it is starting to feel like I'm on a refurb 6-year old computer. It's been great, but it's getting about time to upgrade. I'd like to move to an iMac as I no longer need the portability of a laptop. I'm intrigued by the new chipset, especially as I'm looking for a solution that will last another 6 years or so. However, I've heard of some limitations of the m1 in regards to things like external monitors. Are there other limitations that are out there that might affect a creative workflow?

The M1 we see on the market now does have limitations on the number of monitors, but it is for the lowest spec Macs only. I expect the variants for iMacs will be much more capable, both in terms of performance and connectivity. I don’t think there will be any issues to concern you, and there should be a performance boost over even the latest Intel iMac (Illustrator has been the software that has been the most in need of more power for me on my computers).

Thanks so much. That is what I was thinking, and i's' helpful to have that hope confirmed. Yeah, Illustrator has been a resource hog for me too.
