Will new appletv helps with screensaver pictures?

We love seeing the photos via a slideshow and screensaver on our Apple TV. But our Apple TV is the generation before the current one and I think it doesn't do 1080 but the current one does. Will getting the new Apple TV show high resolution photos?
 
I can't give you an exact answer, but my pictures look great on my Apple TV 3rd gen.
