In attempting to install an SSD in my 2011 27" iMac, I damaged the LCD cable. I put everything back together anyway, but when I turn it on, the fans run at full speed. ALL cables are connected (except LCD), and the original HDD remains installed. The only cable NOT connected is the damaged LCD Cable. Obviously, the display is not working, but I can access remotely.
Question: would not connecting the LCD cable cause the fans to spin at full speed? If so, is there any way to stop this so I can use the computer remotely while I wait for replacement LCD Cable?
Thanks.
Chris
