I read something within the past week that old installation discs made would no longer work due to some certificate expiring. Does this affect 10.6 old installation discs (that do not come from Apple)? Thanks.

The certificate issue is specific to applications and OS installers downloaded from the App Store. It doesn't affect 10.6.
