OK, I know, its a stupid question and I'm pretty sure I know the answer. But if I were to take the bottom off to clean out dust would I lose the year of Applecare I have left?

Recently my fans rev up to 4500rpm when doing simple browsing. They never used to so I'm thinking that almost 2 years of use has caused a buildup of dust... I really don't like unnecessary fan noise...

Generally, yes. Nothing inside the case is user serviceable, so you have no reason to be in there.

Yes. In theory you can get away with it if you a) don't break anything and b) don't break any "void if broken seals", but in practice you should probably avoid it unless you're certified.

Take a look at your CPU usage sometime -- my bet is that it's not a buildup of dust that's causing your heat issues.

You can buy compressed gas specifically for cleaning away dust - simply spray it in the vents while the computer is off = no need to open it up.
