Will OS4 stay on phone if I unpair to sell?

Just curious.

I haven't decided for sure if I'm going series 3 or not, although I'm considering it for cellular. I just wondered if the upgrade will stay on the watch if I unpair - don't want to list it for sale as being updated if it's not gonna be. That upgrade took forever though, so I'd like to leave it for the buyer if possible.

Once you upgrade the watch you cannot downgrade to a less version of WatchOS. Unpairing will not change the OS.
