Soooo peeved that once you upgrade to iCloud Drive you lose the ability to read from iCloud Documents on older devices. So not cool.

You can't downgrade to iCloud Documents so what if I restore my dvice to factory? Too late since I cough cough "upgraded"?

The upgrade is on you iCloud account. Separate from your device. So restoring will not help.

Yeah, the 3GS, 4 and iTouches 3 & 4 are screwed once you upgrade to Drive. No going back. The only option is to start a new ID.

Only person to blame is OP.

If one had payed attention over the months, this would not be an issue. Leading up to iOS 8 release in September, it was pointed out many times that new iCloud was not compatible with non-iOS 8 or non-Yosemite devices. The days before release and on the day, just about every tech site out there had stories re: "don't turn on iCloud documents".

Manatlt, yeah I'll use one of my older non upgraded IDs on both devices, read/restore the iOS 7 document and then switch back to my original ID.

Thanks
