Just as the title says. Do you guys think that apple will add this feature in the future?

Sure, but only the Apple iCar model year 2022 or later and iOS 18 or later. Will not support starting from iPad or iPod Touch or via cellular network.

Only when Skynet will become self-aware.

Anyone thinks Siri to start a car would be a horrible idea? Imagine losing your phone, and someone would be "Siri, start my car, unlock doors".

Yes.

It's only a matter of time before Siri gets APIs which other apps can interface with, and if you have one of those apps that can start your car, Siri will be able to start your car.

Less than five years.

I think this would be pretty neat.

----------

The front facing camera could be used with face recognition to start the car vs just starting with your voice

Is push to start to hard for people now? Even putting in a key seems quicker than pulling out your phone and placing it infront of your face and telling it to start.

It'd be pretty bad cause if a thief jacks your phone, he may as well jack the car

If he jacks your phone he might as well take your keys. Duh.. :)

Besides those remote starts will shut off the car if you don't put in the keys in before touching the brakes/clutch....

You can almost do it with an Android phone + voice action + viper remote start w/ app. You can start the app but you'll need to press the start button manually.

Nope it isn't hard. Love having to leave my keys in my bag and going to push a button to start the car.

I'm guessing you don't live where it gets either extremely cold or extremely hot.

Having lived in places where it was routinely -10°F / -23°C a few months of the year, being able to start the car from inside my house to warm it up was a pure blessing.
