Hi there,

I need some help from the pro's here :). I have an old 2006 iMac which I still use a lot, but lately a lot of software has just stopped working because of compatibility issues with the latest versions.

My questions are:

  • Will Snow Leopard work on my computer? It is a 2006 iMac with a 2.16GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor and 4Gb RAM

Thanks a lot!

Yes, you can use Snow Leopard, as you have an Intel Mac. As far as installing over 10.4, you'll probably need to do a back up, then you boot from the disk and do an archive & install.

I would recommend a clean install. That way you will get rid of excess junk, and typically it will run better. But yes you can do an upgrade.

Just remember to back up first.
