As long as they are using AT&T yes, it will work.

No, you don't need an AT&T account. Straight Talk uses AT&T's towers, so once your ST sim is in, it'll work automatically.

The reason I'm asking is because I have a friend who has an att iPhone 5s but has not paid the bill(going through a divorce). He is offering it to me for a really good deal so I was thinking of selling it to a friend for use with straighttalk. Will it work fine?.
