My current speakers aren't built to utilize the rear audio jack on my Mac Pro, they only work with the front headphone jack. Anyone know if the Swan M-10s can run on the rear analog audio port?

An audio jack is an audio jack...for the most part.

Have you checked to make sure that you've got the sound output going to the right place?

I've got a set of Swans and they work with my rear audio jack and the front headphone jack.

When your plug them in, are you selecting the rear jacks in Sound prefs?

Yeah, I'm switching the selector to line-out, but my current speakers won't play through the line-out jack. Someone told me some speaker sets will only play off the headphone jack. Sounds like the Swan M10s will play from either jack on the mac pro?

The only speakers that will not function from a line out are unamplified speakers. The Swans have an amp built into the sub, so they'll work just fine with line out.

Although on my machine, I've got them plugged into the rear audio jack, but I have to select Internal Speaker to get output on them.
