Looking at the Intel 8th generation Intel processors announced Monday I was struck that all of the 2 core mobile processors are now 4 core processors with the same TDPs and claiming 40% more performance. This lead me to wonder if Apple will soon upgrade the Kabylake processors in the 13 MBPs to the new 4 core processor.

Dell has announced the XPS 13 will get the new chips soon (end of Oct is the guesstimate), and the announcement slides feature a cool looking new black Microsoft Surface Book.

Thoughts?

Apple probably won't use the Kaby Lake Refresh processors on their 13" MBP, because of their TDP and the lack of Iris Graphics. I guess they'll use Coffee Lake CPUs but they haven't been announced yet. Maybe we'll see the new MBPs in Early 2018 or at WWDC in June.
