I am planning to buy the 13inch 2012 non retina base model. I want to know is that I will be using it for basic internet browsing(chrome maybe 10 tabs or more), final cut pro, pixlemator, aperture, itunes and iWork apps daily, as the topic says will it be able to handle it without slowing down? Not all at once but I know I have to use it myself and see but want to know if it will be enough or if I should save up some more money to buy the high end 13inch model.

Retina is no go as I need the optical drive and more HDD space.

Base 13" will be more than fast enough for what you're describing.

Great machine!

I have the 13' model and I use it for graphic design, schoolwork, internet and web browsing and it does perfectly fine

Great! Thanks for your replies! It will be for my university work including some random projects when bored so I am perfectly covered.

The 13" base model cMbp is perfect for what you need. I got one, it was everything that I needed, but I am a speed freak and upgraded it to 16gb of ram for $80 + $10 shipping and a 256gb solid state drive. So overall, the mac would be great for you, and also you have the ability to upgrade it.

The question should either be "would the 13in MB be sufficient" or " would the 13in MB suffice"
To write "be suffice" is grammatically incorrect.

I am thinking of upgrading as well. What's the brand you purchased and the capacity? Did you remove the stick that came with the machine or what? I am planning to get the model with the 4GB then add another 8GB stick. But I went through the Apple site and it says the same capacity for both is ideal.

Noted. Thanks.

What do you do in Final Cut Pro?
For now light editing. But I am more of a photographer+university student so Aperture.
