will the 2.4 ghz imac be enough for hd video editing?

Im looking at getting an apple desktop. I am starting to do a lot of editing, and i'm wondering if the 2.4 would be enough for hd. I could afford to get the 2.8 ghz, but would i need it?

Define HD. HDV? Certainly any iMac or Mac Pro would be quite sufficient. Obviously, more CPU/RAM will always help in terms of render/export times, but I don't think you'll be pulling your hair out on any iMac model working with HDV (or AVCHD) at the moment.
