Disclaimer: I know what I did was stupid, but it is what it is
So basically my 2018 MBP decided to have a sticky spacebar key when i'm abroad for months, in a country where apple does not have an actual apple store and I simply do not trust the repair in here.
Of course my first response is to watch a guide of someone sliding in soft NY subway type cards into their 2016-2017 MBP keycaps that does not have the membrane protector, which after several times, basically torn through the membrane, which I found out after successfully opening it simply with my nail
I was trying to re-allign the membrane at first before putting the keycap back in but then i thought to myself "screw it, the keycaps is gonna get jammed by all these torn membranes" in which I basically proceeded to take away all the membrane for that space bar. I put the spacebar keycap back in and viola, so far the sticky key is basically gone (and to be frank i like this clickier feel better)
Now the question is, has anyone experience the same problem and decided to just not to repair the keyboard because i'm pretty sure I will have to pay to get this keyboard repaired even for the fact that i broke this because of a defect apple would have originally covered with their warranty?
I honestly simply doesn't feel like repairing this keyboard living with the risk of it having sticky keys again. This MBP is actually still under the 1-year warranty and I have been quite meticulous with the usage and try to remove dust all the time from the keyboard
