So, Apple is about to send me a replacement for my 2-year old MacBook Pro 2.16Ghz Core Duo, as it has been sent in for repair multiple times for problems with heat and speed (general unresponsiveness across all applications). I got it back from repair for the final time today, and it wouldn't boot up at all! Prior to this computer, I had a 15" Aluminum PowerBook G4 that also made its way through the repair center enough times to warrant a replacement.
I've owned a number of Apple laptops over the years, and it seems like ever since they went Aluminum, I've had nothing but problems. Has the quality control dropped, or have I just been unlucky enough to have received two lemons in a row?
Apple is sending me the closest equivalent to what I have now from their current line (will be the current 2.2Ghz 15"). To anyone out there who owns one of these, how do you like it? Is heat still a big issue or have some of these issues been improved upon?
