I know, it is all speculation about if the iPad mini will even exist, but do you think it will get Siri? The iPhone 4s has Siri and so does the new iPad (with iOS ). However, the iPod touch, which will be getting iOS 6 without Siri.

So what do you think? Will the $250 iPad mini have Siri? or will it be Siri-less?

It's confirmed on the Compare iPad Models page. My question is why does the mini get Siri, but the iPad 2 doesn't?

Exactly, they share the same A5 processor and both likely have the same RAM, 512 MB.

Same with the 5th gen iPod Touch.

Apple doesn't need to entice people to buy the iPad 2 anymore.

I'd say the Siri thing was a licensing issue, and they didn't want to deal with the legal paperwork to put a new service on older devices. So only devices that came out after implementing Siri get that feature.

Where are you seeing the RAM amount in the mini?

I just don't know how the mini would run 1080p HD (or record in 1080p HD) with only 512MB RAM.

Licensing? Isn't Siri an in house product after they bought out the company that developed it?

The don't disclose the ram size, but they basically spelled it out by saying it shares all the same performance features of the iPad 2. (except for the improved cameras)

And the new iPod Touch is 512 MB with an A5 chip.

We will have to wait for an iFixit tear down to confirm.

The A5 chipset has 512MB LPDDR2 on-die (which means it's on the CPU itself), which is why people claim 512MB RAM -- every device that uses the A5 has that amount of RAM. Unless they did a custom implementation just for this device (unlikely, they would have used the A5X then and go up to 1GB), it'll have 512MB RAM.

I wonder if it really will get Siri. They didn't mention it at all in the keynote, where you think they would. The comparison page might turn out to be a goof, like the part that said lightning adapters would be include in iPhone 5 purchases.

Highly unlikely, there are even images showing Siri in action on the features page.

It's a business decision but people will start asking why loudly very soon.
