Will the iPad VGA adapter work on iPhone 3GS?

Searched on Google and found that it worked on iPhone 4.
Does it work on the 3GS as well? (I'm guessing it should)

It does not. But I'm hoping (no idea yet) that it can be made to work via jailbreaking the 3Gs.

Okay. What's the difference between the 3GS and 4 though? Don't they have the exact same OS?

Not entirely, the 4 has 512Mb of ram and the 3Gs only has 256. The cpu in the 4 is faster as well. The higher resolution screen of the iPhone 4 might be the factor that prevent the VGA cable from working on the 3Gs. Those are the things that could alter the ability to use the VGA cable on the 3Gs.

Nope. I've spent hours poking around with my 3Gs' firmware trying to get the VGA and Camera Connection Kit working. I haven't gotten either working.
