Just like the title says - preferably for unlocked phones buying outright. I can't recall what's happened in the past but I'm sure there are people here who remember what happens with the prices.

The suggested retail price typically drops $100 across the board for the existing models after a new iPhone model is announced.

that's if the model doesn't get discontinued entirely, like the iphone 5 last year.

Even it it does, the suggested retail price drops by $100 until they sell out. That's what happened at most stores with the iPhone 5 last year.

Basically what's going to happen is the same thing that happens every year minus last year.

There's no "c" wild card this year...

The iPhone 6 becomes the flagship

The 5s becomes $99

The 5c becomes free

Well technically the 5 still dropped by $100 in some cases even more. It was a very hot commodity this time last year for people that wanted a 5 instead of the 5c

I think this is what most likely will happen.
