I know this mockup is a very poor representation. I thought it would be easier to show the different possibilities, at least with the 4.7".

Will Apple just scale up the current Icons and U.I items or more likely keep the same icon size and expand the space?

We know they will probably add a 6th row above the dock.

But another thought, with the extra room will they add a fifth column of icons? maybe just in the dock like how the iPad Mini and iPad Air are.

Any thoughts?

I hate the way that looks. Just makes for a giant cluster****. If it is just scaled up from what we have now, you can argue it's a waste of space, but just look at the iPad. Or you can look at how the 4" iPhone 5 has the same amount of apps per page as the app drawer on a 5" galaxy s5

I've thought about this as well. Just scaling up the home screen will look goofy.

I'll just use the Cydia apps and tweaks (once the iOS 8 jailbreak is released) I always use to get the home screen I want:

Iconoclasm
Shrink
Infinidock

The iPad is evidence enough, for me, that this isn't happening.

I am already not a fan of the way iOS continues to sort its apps. It is the worst of the three OS's that I use.

But then again, I look at the desktops of some folks and they have folders and icons scattered all about there too so... obviously it doesn't bother everyone.

Yeah, I really hope they don't just scale it up. The point of a bigger screen isn't to just make the content larger, it's to give you more space. The first mock up was my favourite.

If icons etc are the same size, more icons on the screen, convenient, and more menu items accessible, convenient.

I hope there may be a scale option so that users can choose more space or what is a blown up 5S. Probably not
