Hi,

I dropped my iPhone in water (swimming pool). I have kept the iPhone in rice bag ( did not press any button after i took out from the water). will the iPhone work normally?

Unlikely, as rice can only help absorbing moisture at the outside of iPhone, not inside.
Better send Apple Store for a repair, which is not cheap.

The iPhone 6S and 6S+ are quite water resistant, but the earlier models are much more prone to water damage.

That being said, I had an old Motorola flip phone about 10 years ago that I dropped into the toilet. After washing it with soap and water and letting it dry, it worked perfectly, so only time will tell. Keep us posted.

Also, what kind of iPhone was it?

Hi,

Thank you for replying. It is iPhone 6S and there was no case (unfortunately kept the mobile in shorts and entered the swimming pool).

It's a crap shoot with the 6S. Some have kept phone is water for extended periods of time with no issues while others have only briefly dropped their device with instant failure.
