Hi,
I need to buy a MBP as soon as possible due to a new job but don't want to be caught with the old model if an update comes out of the WWDC, does anyone know when I'll know if there will be any announcement on this? Do I need to wait until the whole conference is over?

Many Thanks!

Mike

Would it really hurt just to wait half a day to see what happens? Yes, you'll most likely need to wait until after the conference, if there is an update the store generally goes down around the beginning of the conference and comes back on just after. Note that they even if they do announce it, it might not start shipping straight away. If it's not at WWDC, expect it within a couple of months.

Who the frak knows? I don't know if they will introduce new hardware at the developer's conference.

I'd more expect them to introduce new models after the back to school sale. That way, the sale will have cleared out some of the back channel of existing stock, and updated models in september or october will spur on buying for the 09 holiday season.

Oh yeah, they will indeed upgrade their laptop tomorrow, it will be brain implants that could use your left brain as CPU and hard drive and your right brain as the graphic card, but too bad for some people it would be an underpowered machine. Results has shown it can be as slow as 486.

Here's to our daily "Will the MBP be updated at WWDC thread"

Like every thread the answer is we don't know, wait and see. Of course the waiting is only but hours away so why the heck ask a question that nobody knows but we all will find out in a few hours

Reading the threads at MR is so much more fun than the actual keynote itself! :D
