We all know its gonna be 3G but do you think they will have java support? Or what new stuff do you think it'll have? What about the design?

And more importantly when do you think it'll be announced?

Sun said they were trying to port Java, but its doubtful, and highly unlikely it will be soon.

Apparently Stevo is unconvinced by Java…
In an interview given to the German magazine MacWelt, Jobs reportedly said "Java’s not worth building in [to the phone]. Nobody uses Java anymore. It’s this big heavyweight ball and chain."

Kind of like he said nobody reads anymore…

i can tell you in 2 days!
thats when my crystal ball arrives! im so excited!

seriously, people here cant predict the future

Do you think flash will be a new thing added in? What else to you guys think will be in iPhone 2 that isn't in the iPhone atm?

When do you think it'll be announced.

pobably not...adobe said they were gonna do flash without apple's help only to withdrawl from it a few days later, makes me think it aint gonna happen.

I also heard rumor that they will also include ATM's, a Burger King and a communications link to Scotty to beam me up, because there is no intelligent conversation here!

The design is so iconic I don't see Apple making any major changes. They may make it thiner (but the space is better off being used for more battery - which it is probably going to need no matter how much more efficient the new 3G chips are - and/or more memory).

A quick look at the evolution of the iPod will show that Apple's strategy has always been to add "just a little bit more" in each version - in this case 3G support, perhaps GPS. I doubt the camera will be upgraded (2 MegaPixel res is the limit of what the media chipset in the phone will handle I understand). A front-mounted camera is something that we may see (or not - it will be hidden away like the light and proximity sensors so as not to spoil the lines) in an update in a year or so.

So my "predictions" are

3G iPhone perhaps with GPS in about three months.

Refresh in early 2009 to provide a 32 GB version and kill the 8 GB model.

Don't think Flash or Java will be making an appearance any time soon.

Correction (not your fault): Adobe said they wanted to port Flash WITH Apple's help.

Then all the silly "news" sites, who never bothered to listen to the recording. fell all over themselves to say that Flash was coming.

So Adobe had to correct everyone, not retract, since Apple apparently refused to help.

This kind of misinterpretation happens nearly every week with the iPhone.

flash? no

although like ms flash is everywhere. that does not mean it is good.

i want flash on iphone only because it is everywhere. not because it is good.

what apple should do is create its own rendering engine and show flash and pdfs. if it is feasible.

yes, java and flash will be in iphone by august 2008 guarantted

while flash would be useful just to have it and many would love it, im not sure i would really use it.

but java... many of my study materials online are all java based - i do hope dearly that this comes to the iphone/touch

as for knowing anything, why ask? this is the rumour site: make a rumour!

ah thanks, guess I fell for the misinterpretation as well.
