Does anyone know if the new apple remote will appear under "Find My"? My kids tend to misplace it so it would be great if it had a feature ping it or locate it.

Third party companies are making Apple TV remotes. And third party companies are making Find My devices.

Surely some company will make an Apple TV remote that supports Find My.

But because of the way the Apple TV is designed, 3rd party remotes don’t have access to Siri. So you’d have Find My, but not Siri.

Probably the only way to have both Siri and Find My is what chabig is talking about. And someone will make a case for the Siri Remote that holds an AirTag. Or you can try Velcro’ing an AirTag to the Siri Remote. No one knows how well that’s gonna work though because AirTags are curved on the outside.

everything in this post is speculation. So don’t count on any of it. I had really just assumed the next Siri Remote would have Find My. Bit it didn’t. So speculation is often wrong.

It’s also possible Apple will redesign the way Siri works on Apple TV. And 3rd party remotes will have access to Siri. I skimmed an article about this awhile back. It’s like the voice processing would have to happen on the Apple TV and not on the remote like it does now or something.

No doubt a future Siri remote will include a U2 chip. As we know with Apple, changes can be incremental and slow.
