Hello everyone,
I’m using an M4 Mac mini with a Studio Display connected via Thunderbolt 4, and I have been loving it. But there are some rumors about a new Studio Display with mini-led, so I’m thinking about getting that one as my main screen and using the current one as my second monitor for a dual monitor setup.
My main concern is Thunderbolt 4 bandwidth limitations. From what I understand, Thunderbolt 4 officially supports 5K at 60hz, but I’ve seen speculation that the rumored new Studio Display could support higher refresh rates (5k90hz or 5k120hz).
So my question is: Would the M4 Mac mini be able to drive a new Studio Display at 5K90hz or 5K120hz over Thunderbolt 4? Or are we limited to 5K 60hz per display?
What do you think?
