Ever since Apple split up iTunes into separate apps, the Apple TV app has had a bug where if you make folders to organise playlists with, then either: add new items, playlists, or moving items within the app folders, it will automatically open up "all" folders you made within the app itself. With every new update, I always hope Apple will fix this bug, but with no luck, it is still within the app. (I've reported this bug with every new update with no response.) And while this was an issue with my older 2014 iMac, however, with both my M series Mac mini and MacBook Air and even different user accounts, this issue seems to still happen.

Also, this issue does not happen within the other iTunes apps that split up, such as the Apple Music App, where playlist folders work correctly.

I really hope the new redesigned OS coming this year means they’ll finally fix this issue.

I've updated this post with some videos showcasing the bug below and how it works correctly within Apple Music.

I don't see any folders inside the AppleTV app. I would try to help but I have no idea what you're seeing. Can you post a screenshot?

Thanks. That's very clearly a problem. I don't use playlists in the AppleTV app, so hopefully someone else can help you.
