Will the non contract iPhone 5s will be available to pre-order at launch?

Just wondering because that's the route I probably will be going to get the new iPhone, since my contract doesn't end until May 2013.

Remember for the 4S the non contract ones weren't available until a few weeks after launch.

They will be. Now the unlocked phones are a different story, that's what you are thinking of. I myself will be paying full price at pre-order.

I was just in the Verizon store a little while ago with just this question. The rep sad he didn't see why not, but would give me a call as soon as he had concrete information on this. That's as much info as I have.

Edit: Actually, I should clarify slightly. I was asking about doing this on launch day, not pre-ordering.

The factory unlocked 4S wasn't available here in the US till some time in late November, and it was hard to get even then. I didn't get the one I just sold till the beginning of Janurary due to the Apple app always running out of stock so soon.

Actually you are correct. I purchased at full price on my AT&T account, which was unlocked when received.
