I just bought an untested powerbook 100 (original powerbook) for $15 bucks. It is untested and does not have a power cord. Could I use mine from a 180c? I googled around and got a no and a yes.

yes, I belive they use different model adaptors, but so long as the volts and amps are the same it should be fine...

It'll probably work fine. Just give it a try. The wattage doesnt mean that much, as the thing wont suck all the wattage that the adapter provides to it. Espically seeing the list, how everything was replaced by one model numbered adapter anyhoo.

yes, and on top of that, the powerbook 100 used a lot less power than the 180c anyway ( no color screen, built in floppy drive, etc) so I wouldn't worry about it...

Thanks everyone. I think the 4 watt difference shouldn't mean too much. Cross your fingers when it arrives!

Yea, back in my Mac support days we were interchanging all the 140 & 170 adapters which are the same. The only thing is that you have to use a 180c adapter with a 180c...

The 180c adapater you can use with the others...
