I was just wondering, that in about a month the iOS 5 event will be held according to rumors and history.
If the iPhone 5 is to have a larger screen (like the rumors suggest), would Apple let developers know that they would have to slightly adjust their iPhone apps? And if they did, then this be a clear indication that the iPhone 5 would have a larger screen?

No. They never mentioned the retina display. No reason to mention a bigger screen. ( which probably isn't happening this year anyway.)

Physical screen size and resolution are not necessarily connected. Apple does not have to increase the resolution, and most likely wouldn't. Apps would run identically as they do now.

Gotcha, thanks for clearing that up!
