My mom needs a new phone. She doesn't need anything too fancy or expensive, and Walmart has this for $200. It says it's GSM Unlocked. Will that work on a $30/month prepaid plan with T-Mobile?

Does anyone have any experience with this phone? Will upgrading it to ios 6 make the performance suffer?

Also, how much longer do you think they'll be selling this phone?

I'm sure he's just being snooty.

Yes, this should work with T-mobile. For the same price, you could probably grab an iPhone 4 off of Swappa. Did you look into that?

No, but I will, thanks for the idea.

Had a friend whom I gave my old 3GS to earlier this year. He got the phone unlocked from AT&T and uses it on MetroPCS. I mention that because T-Mobile bought MetroPCs. So, if he can get it to work you shouldn't have an issue with T-Mobile itself I should think.

3GS and, 4, and 4S dont cover all of Tmo refarmed 3g/4g specturm.

So you might have a lot of edge.

Pardon my ignorance - does this mean the service/coverage won't be as good?
