They'll probably have a licensing fee. NBA/NFL watch faces, etcetera. That's how ringtones started before they opened up completely.

Me too. Maybe we can set one of our photos as a watch background? But lots of choices (animated ones) would be great.

I have 2 preferences for watch faces. One that is elegant and simple and another that crams as much info on it as possible. Apple provides both.
