For me the M1 is probably not enough HP and yet the Studio is certainly overkill. I was hoping for a Mini M1 Pro. What do you think are the chances of an Mini M1 Pro getting released like the rumoured image below, or did the Studio essentially kill that off.

After Jon Prosser's complete miss with the iPhone 14, I would take this render with the tiniest pinch of salt.

Only problem is that if you look at apples pricing then difficult to see how slot in a mini with a pro chip.

Base studio max = 1999

Now from mbp prices

16 - 32gb = 400
M1 pro 8/14 M1 max 10/24 = 500

On the M1 mini and iMac then 8 - 16 is 200 so 400 for 16 bb to 32 would be consistent on mini upgrades as well.

From mini then 10gb = 100

Now the M1 mini for a 16gb 512gb SSD = 1099
That has only an M1 so would also need the M1 to M1 Pro cost however as Apple has no system currently with M1 and M1 Pro then cannot say what that cost is.

So for 900 then get

M1 not Pro to M1 Max
16 to 32
1Gb Ethernet to 10Gb Ethernet

Yet you already looking at 1k and don’t cover the M1 to M1 Pro SoC upgrade either in there and yet would be 100 more expensive.

So you would have he situation where an M1 Pro if fitted with upgrades of RAM is going to be not much less then the studio Max or on paper even more as doesn’t factor in the M1 to M1 Pro upgrade of the SoC.

Apple want 300 for Pro 8/14 to 10/16 SoC and could not see them giving the 8/14 for the same price as an M1.

So either Apple would need to reduce the base M1 mini and it’s upgrade prices to be able to fit a Pro SoC mini into the place.

I had been hoping for a Pro SoC mini as want he ProRes video encoder/decoder but going to get a studio as better value then what an M1 Pro would be especially as would want the 10/16 so basically only 200 cheaper and get the rest of the studio improvements as well.
