As the isight is no longer on sale and with the announcements on the macpro do you think we will see a new and improved isight anytime soon?

Probably not. They come built-in on most Mac, and for those without - they will probably come built-in to Apple displays.

iSight disappeared ONLY from European Apple Online Stores

Hi guys,

I wanted one of those nice cams but, at the exact moment I decided to open the wallet, the iSight cam was removed. Not in the USA.

I contacted the Customer Service by phone and this is what they replied:

"Due to an incompatibility (with what? ) issue, the iSight cam has been removed from all the European Stores. It will come back, sure, but we cannot know the exact date"....

What does it mean?
Thank you guys, have a nice weekend.

Incompatibility? That's an interesting way for them to put it :)

The problem is that the current iSight is not compliant with the new RoHS rules in Europe. Apple need to remove whatever evil substances are hiding in the cameras before they bring them back over there.

Ya know, if we knew exactly when new products were coming out (like many newbies think), we wouldnt need MacRumors in the first place.
