Based on previous events, do app developers tend to lower prices for their apps around product launches?

I've been browsing the store window shopping for apps in anticipation of this week's new iPad launch. I'm trying to decide if I should go ahead and purchase a few now or wait for the potential drop in prices.

i say wait, plus st. pattys day is on Saturday so there's better potential of sales this weekend as opposed to now. For me, I'm waiting to purchase my apps on the new ipad...as opposed to itunes on my mac.

Just bought Modern Combat for $0.99. It's been "optimized" for the new iPad. The game is well worth the $7 regular price tag. Definitely a must buy at a buck.
