My current one is starting to become less reliable, and I figure that while I'm getting a new one, I might as well get an Anker PowerCore+ to have the ability to charge my MacBook in a pinch.

I know that it's likely I may drain my macbook's battery faster than it is being charged since the power bank has lower voltage output. Other than that, are there any other problems that can arise from using a power bank?

Nope. Just be sure to use a GOOD one...not from some no name 3rd party. Anker is VERY reliable and a solid choice. I use this one:
Anker PowerCore+ 20100, USB-C/Type-C Ultra-High Capacity, Premium Portable Charger, 20100mAh External Battery, 6A Output, PowerIQ & VoltageBoost for Apple MacBook
