Will there be any point in jailbreaking

I've never bothered with the jail breaking thing but wondered what advantages if any it will have after launch of ios5
 
There will always be a reason to jailbreak. Everyone ooohing and aaahing over the new features in iOS5, jailbreakers have had them for years. Apple finally decided to implement some of the features. There's plenty more still missing.
 
There will obviously be some things only available through a jailbreak, but it is becoming less and less enticing as more features are added to iOS. Just depends what you are looking to do. My iOS4 is jailbroken, but I really don't see the need to have to JB iOS5. Pros don't outweigh the cons of jailbreaking.
 
the only reason ive ever even thought about jailbreaking my iphone4 is to get custom sms text tones. Free tethering? meh its 2011 and at&t/verizon speeds are too slow for any serious data movement.
 
Yup, two reasons that have already been stated. MyWi and BiteSMS. Can't live without quick reply. Also being able to completely turn off Spotlight makes me happy too.
 
yes of course there will, developers can always come up with tweaks that apple does not have in iOS faster then apple makes newer iOS versions so there will always be things missing regardless of how minor those might be to some
 
Indeed there will be. I'm stoked to imagine how the JB dev community will build on top of iOS 5!

They've built on top of iOS 3 and 4 to far exceed what Apple debuted this week. They'll raise the bar again using the new APIs. :)
 
The only thing I would consider jailbreaking for - I can't remember what it's actually called - Tricking the iPhone to think it's on wifi when it's on 3G. For FaceTime calls over 3G and higher quality YouTube videos. I tether with HandyLight, so no need to jailbreak for that.
 
I <3 SB settings, its much nicer than having to go through settings, and turn on or off bluetooth, and wifi and all those other things.
 
IF APPLE DOESNT PUT IN WIDGET API FOR DEVELOPERS IN iOS5....you bet Jailbreaker community will make widget :p
