This idea has been discussed a bit:

Black MacBook Pro
Black Aluminum Macbook Pro Retina?
How likely is it that we'll get iPhone 5 style black anodised aluminium macbooks?
Black Anodized Aluminum Macs?
Slate Black Aluminum would be nice for the next rMBP refresh..

That's pretty much a waste of time, as it doesn't matter what others think. What matters is whether your Mac meets your needs and preferences. Trying to impress others is useless.

Wouldn't it be nice?

I work in a vehicle bodyshop, just a quick question as I'm seriously considering painting my retina macbook. Firstly, I'm guessing it would void my warranty right?

Also, how far could I disassemble it, I know I'd have to mask the screen edges up, I could remove the bottom plate, could I remove the keys from below or would I have to take each one out individually?

Also, I'd be a little worried about the speaker holes being filled in by the paint & lacquer. And I'd have to mask off the trackpad probably?

Empty the thing down to the shell - paint it all over so you don't have to worry about missing edges, give it a couple of coats with primer first then the colour. then some form of protection layer ie car laquer etc

Once dry rebuild computer

The only problem I'd see there is the product that you put on it will be so heavy that it'll probably clog the tiny holes that have been drilled for the speakers.

Also, can the keyboard be entirely stripped out?

Maybe you should walk around with a big "I have the latest and greatest Apple MacBook" sticker on your forehead. Then perhaps you'll get the attention you're looking for.

Get a black case/cover for it. There are so many alternatives/ways to customize your devices. Apple won't release any colored rMBP, I'm 99.999999% sure of it.

This is what I had in mind for you:

I highly advise against painting your retina display Macboook Pro. Yes -- it will undoubtedly void your warranty on it.

Yawn. Black is boring. It was done on the MacBook. I'm holding out for plaid, paisley, houndstooth, or a 3D picture of Tim Cook, whose eyes open or close, depending on which angle you're looking from.

If it's the same anodizing process used for the iPhone 5 then I'm not sure it would go over very well.

It needs to be a very durable coating.

Go to that much trouble take it and get it anodized some cool color.
