This thread may have already been started or this question may have already been asked and answered..

BUT, I was curious if there would be siri software updates? I mean it only makes sense, but I could be in for a letdown.. Does anybody know or have opinions?

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4S: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A334 Safari/7534.48.3)

No one knows just yet. It could be updated in future iOS updates or it could be transparent server-side updates that we'll never see.

I think most of the updates and changes are going to be on Apples end on the servers that process everything.

I am sure there will be updates included as they release new iOS versions that will allow Siri to do more.

Just make sure you adjust to how most updates are going to be done because if you're expecting new downloads or big announcements then I think that you will set yourself up for a letdown. I expect lots of updates but, since almost all of Siri lives on Apple's servers, almost all the updates will be done on the servers (as others have already pointed out) and you probably won't realise that they're happening. What you should see (I hope) is that Siri gradually gets better at recognising people's voices, can answer a wider range of questions as more third party services get integrated, and answers existing questions better as it is able to extract more complete meaning from what is said to it.

You might already have missed one interesting update in the last week or two. Lots of people here have reported that Siri's US voice has changed very slightly, it's just a bit less robotic and sounds more natural than it did when it was first launched.

The updates that might require phone-side updates might be things to improve or extend Siri's integration with on-phone apps but I doubt that Apple will push updates to their phones just for that (every iOS update is a big event for Apple because it always opens up the possibility of something going wrong and gives the impression of unstable software or annoys many users if too many updates come out in quick succession) so I would expect any client-side Siri upgrades to be bundled in with the regular iOS updates at about the same frequency as we've seen them in the past, or at least a bunch of client-side Siri updates collected together so that new iOS releases aren't being pushed out every few weeks.

No doubt Siri will evolve. The improvements in Siri will be updated on the servers. No updates required for our phones.

Siri will grow and mature. She will become more intergrated in future Apple products.

you do realize no one here knows any more than you, right? you're asking strangers on the internet who have zero affilitation with Apple to speculate on whether or not Siri will be updated?
Siri-ously?
On what planet would it make any sense to not update a fully integrated beta program?

There better be .... kind feel a bit jipped after the keynote showed off all the cool features then outside US some of the key ones don't even work (business, location and traffic)

I think Siri is very definitely going to receive a long series of server-end upgrades over the next few months ... some of which are likely to be pretty substantial.

One thing I think we're likely to see soon are stronger abilities in the arenas of shopping and travel -- probably designed in ways that Apple can monetize the service.

You do realize we live on a planet with almost 7 billion people and almost 1.5 billion of those, have internet access.. So i would hope SOMEONE out there knows a hell of a lot more than I do.. It never hurts to ask...

You're right, it doesn't make sense not to update a beta form program, but I didn't know if updates would come to the beta form already on iPhone 4s or if they would be on the next rollout of the iPhone.. I see it being perfectly logical to assum that... Like I said, I doesnt hurt to ask..

Btw, thanks for everyone who gave some info.. I appreciate it.. It helped a lot.
