With the new iMacs supporting pro motion and adopting mini-LEDs... will there come a time for a consumer-level apple display? Just seems stupid for Apple to only offer one insanely priced one. Not even including a stand!! When's the tech gonna trickle down? And who wants an Apple Mac with an off-brand display?

If Apple doesn't release a standalone display, people would be forced to get an iMac, essentially buying an entire system just for the display...

I bought an XDR for my main development machine last year and just bought a second XDR for my wife who does all the support/admin, etc. Her 10 year old LED Cinema Display was just getting painful to use with aging eyes. I was holding out for a 27" Retina with the October announcement and nothing happened. Hopefully next year we will see something as I'd like to replace my 27" Thunderbolt too.

"Will there ever be a non-Pro Apple Display?"

I think those days are gone.
Simply not enough money in it for Apple to bother with any more.
It's as simple as that.

If they don't do something in the Spring, I think I might finally go the route of turning a preowned iMac 5k into a standalone display.
