iPod touch Will they be releasing another model in early 2010?

So people have pointed out to the 3rd generation coming up as Fall 2009 in iTunes. Well this shows it as late 2009...

The iPod Nano comes up as 5th generation which probably means they are done updating until 9/2010.

Yes, I know there has been posts about the firmware stating iPod 3,1. But if you notice the 8GB touch is showing up as late 2010 as well. That iPod did not receive any update except it has a new firmware. Nobody has made mention of what generation that one is showing up as yet


So could this all mean that maybe they are planning something?
 
Yep, right after Christmas, because everyone knows that's when people do their shopping. Well, actually, I think that's true for Canada, but no, that's not what they are gonna do.

I think they will. Good observation.
 
Well, I don't see why they call it "Late 2009."
The Second Gen. Touch was released at this time of year as well.
Unless they mean late as in, last minute.
 
Sept is technically "late" 2009. I mean, it's not early, it'd not the summer mid, it's in the August range, so it's late.

Man, people are reaching at straws. Stop living in denial.
 
Well. I guess we are all kind of disappointed at the camera not being included, but we have to move on :p. To me, it looks like every single label or ray of hope we see, we get our hopes up.
"Late 2009," maybe a new iPod Touch?
"Cases in October," maybe a new iPod Touch?
(And this part is added after you post. I know it's about rumor and speculation, but I don't think that anything is going to happen any time soon. Just think about it. It's probably going to happen in September 2010 is anything. They probably are planning something, but that something might not be as soon as we would like it.)

Yes but I mean, this is a perfect example of the whole, fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. Because you guys are going to be falling for THE EXACT SAME THING, a month later.
 
I think it will depend on how sales of the new Touch are over the next couple of months. If there is a significant enough drop in sales of the new units then yes I think we will see an early release.
 
I don't think there will be an update.

The only possibility I see is a bump from 8GB to 16GB for the low-end model, with exactly the same hardware otherwise (i.e. a return of the '2G' 16GB model, instead of the '2G' 8GB model).
