Dont take my word for it, but it says in the description that it fits the iPhone 4S ONLY. Not the iPhone 4. So if the seller is correct, then yes it will work for your phone.

The seller did not say what iPhone 4s it fits (sprint, Verizon, AT&T). I know that does matter with the screen, as I have replaced those, but I'm not sure if the backplate is different.

Sorry, you are right. I missed the "Sprint" part in your original post. I didnt think the back plate was different between carriers, but will let someone else chime in on that. The only difference I was aware of is the volume and mute toggles.
