I bought an iPhone 15 a few months ago at an Apple Store, I also bought an official 20 watt charger/adapter on the same day. After I charge my iPhone 15 I have been removing the charging cable from the phone and the adapter, but leaving the adapter plugged into the electrical outlet. Should I expect any damage to the adapter after leaving it plugged into the electrical outlet all the time? Should I make a habit of removing the adapter from the electrical outlet after charging my phone each time?

No need at all, almost all my chargers in my house for iPhone, iPad, laptop, etc. have been plugged in for years.

Oh, years huh? Ok, I won’t worry about then.. I’m guessing the adapter is designed to avoid the very damage I am concerned about. Thank you for your input.

Certainly an electrical surge COULD fry the charger, just like it could fry any other equipment that’s plugged in. For most parts of the world, it’s not a common occurrence and where it is, surge protection is used.

Like @BuggyGT I have multiple chargers throughout the house, plugged in literally 24/7 for years at a time. Occasionally one dies, and I replace it. Might it not have died if I’d unplugged it whenever it wasn’t actually in use? Maybe. But the time & effort saved in not doing so, easily pays for the occasional replacement many times over.
