Will this HDD work with Timemachine?

I am looking at purchasing this harddrive for my buddies macbook.
Beyond Micro / Mobile / 80GB / 7200 / 2MB / USB 2.0 /3.5"/ External Hard Drive
it says it works with mac or pc but doesn't say what OS version it supports....
I am wondering if it will work with Time Machine or not?
I am of the understanding that all externals should work fine but some I have looked at specifically say "time machine ready" as a selling feature....
Wuts up with that?

I think they just want to sell you those HDDs. Any external HDD should work just fine
