So, I just got an SSD and I'm swapping it out for the hard drive in my white Macbook. I have a USB Seagate external hard drive. Will this process work for the cloning process?

Using Carhon Copy Cloner...
Clone current HDD onto external
Install SSD
Option-boot from external
Clone external onto SSD
Boot from SSD

I ordered a USB SATA enclosure to make this easier, but it hasn't arrived yet and I don't want to wait to install my SSD :D

You could do that. I personally had an issue when I did a clone (although it could have just been the crappy enclosure I bought), and it ran really slow even though it was a bigger and faster drive. What I did was just use a time machine backup, then fresh install OS X, then restore from time machine during the setup process. That way you get a fresh install, and all your stuff is where it should be.

That could work. An extra step, but yes, faster than waiting for the mail to come.
