Yes... that chip will work.

Although the MacBook works better with a matched pair, that setup will work for 2.5MB. Your best setup would be 2x2GB to give you 3+ MB depending on your exact model.
 
I ordered a newer model MB refurb from Apple, will this memory dimm work?

Also, if I leave one of the 512mb sticks that come stock in the MB, and put this one in next to it, could I have 2.5 GB memory or do they have to be the same capacity?

You might want to wait when you get the MB. Apple likes to add some stuff to your refurb for free. If you order only 1GB sometimes they will give you 2GB or a larger HD.

That would be freakin awesome. I will just return the memory in that case to Newegg. However, I probably won't even boot the Mac until I put my 2GB stick in. So, just in case, what I'll do is I'll take off the battery and see what exactly is in the memory bay. If it is 2GB or more, I'll return the memory, if not I won't. Thanks guys.
