Yes, it should work in the sled on any Mac Pro. Since you have a Penryn box, the ODD bay isn't much of an option for you, unless threading those SATA cables is worth saving $15 on the drive adapter. (Probably not). So go for it.

Thanks guys, I'm in Australia though so I don't think the free part counts :D
What's the ODD bay?

I can't find anyone that ships to International at the moment around $500 (exc shipping)

Kind Regards

You might want to try directron.com. They do ship internationally, but send them an email, and see what they say (get a total price, and find out how to get it to them).

The price is cheaper than Amazon or newegg, but the shipping and taxes (GST + tech tax) will eat that of course, and likely with some interest. :p

I found this on their site:
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING: Online ordering is available only to US addresses including HI, AK, PR, GU, and VI, and Canadian addresses. We do ship to all other countries/regions provided that the customer prepays the order, including all shipping expenses. Customers are responsible for duties if any. Shipping charges for international destinations outside North America are quite high and must be prepaid. Our online shipping calculation may be wrong for international shipping and manual correction may be needed. Please use only USA or Canada-based e-mail addresses for online ordering. E-mail addresses with other countries/regions will not be accepted on the ordering pages.

Hope this helps. :)
