I'm not sure if that will work or not (I don't know what UDMA-100 means)... but for a little bit more you could get an 80Gb 5400rpm drive:

For purchasing purposes UDMA can be treated to meaning the same as ATA or EIDE. It is a technology used in the ATA system.

I am sure someone with a more technical understanding could tell you what the actual difference is.

It should work, but just to let you know, newegg.com has a 60GB 5400rpm drive for $10 more or so, and $4.99 3-day shipping. Might be a better deal, especially with the speed bump.

Thanks, I was actully having second thoughts about buying a refurb anyways. I think I'm going to go for the 80gb 5400.

First of all, are all of these compatable with my PB? Secondly, what is the difference, and is there any reason why the Toshiba is worth an extra $30?

Be careful. The Hitachi is serial-ATA which WON'T work with your PowerBook. The others will.

The Toshiba is $30 more because it has a 16Mb cache as opposed to an 8Mb cache. So in theory it should be a better performing drive.
