Just wondering if it will automatically backup Parallels and the programs in it or if I need to do something special?

My experience with Time Machine and Parallels was that originally, TM backs everything up, and each time you open Windows in Parallels, it reads as having been modified, so it backs it all up again.

What I wound up doing is setting TM to ignore my Parallels directory. I then put anything I wanted backed up into a regular Mac directory.

Of course, that means that I have to take periodic snapshots of my Parallels directory.
