iPod touch Will U Need Wifi For Most Apps???

going through the app store i cant help but think even though it says i can get this on my ipod touch, i dont think it will work. most of the apps that say they are compatable with the touch also say the work with the 3G, which touch doesnt have!!
so will u have to be in a wifi hotstop to actually work the apps???? does anybody know how many are loaded direct to the ipod and dont need wifi to work???

By 3G they're saying they're compatible with the iPhone 3G. You won't need Wi-Fi to run the applications because they will be installed on the device.

While it is true that all the apps will sit on your device, some of them will still access the Internet for data. So for example, most games will work perfectly well without Wifi access (less any multiplayer stuff), but an app like AIM or Pandora won't work at all.
