will unlocked iphone lock when connecting to mac?

hi guys, just registered, had a look through some posts but still im not so sure.

i have an unlocked iphone on the 3.0.1 (i think) version.

i need to take some pictures and upload them, im using a macbook and would probs be using iphoto.

im wondering if i connect it, will it just lock up in itunes again or what will happen?
